At its core, 2,000 tall, individually encapsulated pocket springs respond to your body's movements independently, supporting your spine whether you sleep on your back, side, or front, and absorbing motion so a restless partner doesn't disturb you. On top, layers of bamboo and charcoal-infused memory foam contour to your shape while actively regulating temperature, wicking moisture, and neutralising odour. The result is a sleeping surface that stays consistently cool, fresh, and hygienic over years of use.
At 6.5 out of 10 on our firmness scale, the Pure sits in medium-firm territory, which is supportive enough for back and front sleepers, with enough give for side sleepers who need pressure relief at the hip and shoulder.

Who is the OTTY Pure best suited to?

How does the Pure differ from the OTTY Original?
The Original is OTTY's flagship hybrid. A trusted, high-performing mattress with a thick knitted cover. What does the charcoal actually do?
Activated charcoal is a naturally porous material that absorbs moisture and neutralises odours at the source rather than masking them. In the Pure, it works within the memory foam layers to keep the sleeping environment fresher for longer — particularly useful if you sweat during sleep or notice smells building up in older mattresses. -
How firm is the Pure, and how does it compare to other OTTY mattresses?
The Pure sits at 6.5 out of 10 on our firmness scale — medium-firm. For context: the Original and Pure Pro are a touch firmer at 7/10, the Pure+ is softer at 5/10, and the Extra Firm sits at 9/10. If you've slept on a medium mattress and found it too soft, or a firm mattress and found it too hard, the Pure is a good middle ground. -
Do I need to rotate the OTTY Pure?
Yes. Rotate it once a month for the first 12 months, then once every 3 months after that. This ensures even wear across the spring and foam layers and helps the mattress perform at its best for longer. The Pure is a single-sided mattress and should not be flipped. -
Is the OTTY Pure good for back pain?
It can be. The 2,000 individually encapsulated pocket springs — each 16cm tall — provide zoned support that encourages natural spinal alignment regardless of your sleeping position. The medium-firm feel means you're supported without pressure building at the hips or shoulders. That said, the right firmness for back pain is personal, and our 100-night trial gives you time to know for certain.
Prevent Overheating While Sleeping
Overheating at night is one of the most common reasons for disturbed sleep. This is why we create many small perforations throughout the mattress layers (the AirFlow system), allowing fresh air to circulate throughout the mattress, removing excess heat and ensuring you stay cool, all night long.

Springs are the king of support in a mattress, which is why we use up to 2000, tall (16cm) encapsulated pocket springs in ours. This creates the perfect spine alignment and support for your joints and back, ensuring you wake up pain-free and ready for the day ahead. Each sleeper is supported individually, preventing any sleep disturbance caused by the other’s movement.
