The bamboo and charcoal-infused memory foam helps regulate temperature, supports moisture management, and promotes lasting freshness for enhanced comfort throughout the night. Its medium-firm feel (6.5/10) provides balanced support, making it suitable for back, side, and front sleepers.
How does the Pure differ from the OTTY Original?
The Original is OTTY’s flagship hybrid—a trusted, high-performing mattress with a thick knitted cover. The Pure builds on that same spring and airflow foundation, introducing bamboo-derived and charcoal-infused memory foam layers designed to manage temperature, reduce odours, and promote fabric hygiene. If you tend to run warm at night or prefer a fresher, hypoallergenic sleeping environment, the Pure is the step up worth making.
What does the charcoal actually do?
Activated charcoal is a highly porous material known for its ability to help absorb moisture and neutralise odours at the source, rather than simply masking them.
In the Pure, charcoal is integrated into the memory foam layers to maintain a fresher sleeping environment over time—making it particularly useful if you tend to run warm, sweat during sleep, or want to prevent unwanted odours from building up in your mattress.
How firm is the Pure, and how does it compare to other OTTY mattresses?
The Pure sits at 6.5 out of 10 on our firmness scale — medium-firm. For context: the Original and Pure Pro are a touch firmer at 7/10, the Pure+ is softer at 5/10, and the Extra Firm sits at 9/10. If you've slept on a medium mattress and found it too soft, or a firm mattress and found it too hard, the Pure is a good middle ground.
Do I need to rotate the OTTY Pure?
Yes. Rotate it once a month for the first 12 months, then once every 3 months after that. This ensures even wear across the spring and foam layers and helps the mattress perform at its best for longer. The Pure is a single-sided mattress and should not be flipped.
Is the OTTY Pure good for back pain?
It certainly can be. The 2,000 individually encapsulated pocket springs—each 16cm tall—provide zoned support designed to promote natural spinal alignment across all sleeping positions.
